About Christopher Rankin, MD

Dr. Christopher Rankin is a family medicine specialist with more than 22 years of experience providing patient-centered care. He earned his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center–Shreveport, where he also completed his family medicine residency and served as Co-Chief Resident. Dr. Rankin always knew he wanted to become a physician and especially enjoys getting to know people from all walks of life. He takes the time to ask questions, listen to his patients’ stories, and find common interests that help build meaningful connections. For him, caring for patients comes down to a simple principle: treat others the way he would want to be treated. Dr. Rankin believes patients deserve to understand the “why” behind their care. Whether it's a vaccine, a screening, or a treatment plan, he wants patients to understand why it matters so they can make informed decisions about their health. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his two daughters, exercising, and following sports.
